Guernica, an Icon of Peace

cartonesitoAfter the exhibition in the Senate of the Republic, the cartoon of Guernica will be in Emilia-Romagna (14 January-28 February). The president of the Region Stefano Bonaccini will be present. Shuttle service  reserved for the journalists

Bologna – From 14 January to 28 February 2018, the Museum MAGI ‘900 will give hospitality to the suggestive exhibition Guernica, an Icon of Peace, dedicated to the cartoon created by Pablo Picasso, with his masterpiece work, as a model for the tapestry currently exhibited at the UN Security Council in New York.

The idea of the  exhibition was born because of a long research realized by the Art historician, Serena Baccaglini who, during her studies to the great Spanish Artist, discovered an incredible cooperation among Pablo Picasso, Nelson Rockefeller (one of the most great patron in XX century) and the artist  Jacqueline de la Baume Durrbach, who recreated and wove the painting of Guernica through the ancient art of the arazzo.

The press preview is scheduled on Saturday, 13 January at 11.30 at Museum Magi‘900 (via Rusticana, a/1) in Pieve di Cento (Bologna): the president of the Region Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini, the Mayor of the Municipality of Pieve di Cento Sergio Maccagnani, the founder of the Museum MAGI’900 Giulio Bargellini and the curator of the exhibition Serena Baccaglini will be present

The event has a great symbolic meaning and is under the patronage of the Region Emilia-Romagna.
